Day 23 – Ballarat Wildlife Park
Today was definitely up there with my favorite days here! The wildlife park was wonderful, definitely worth the drive. It was a small park but was hardly busy most of the time it was just us enjoying the animals.
The ranger talks were great. Some we got to pet the animals, like the young wombat she was 16 kg. She literally looked like a giant hamster…the only real difference is she is marsupial so she has a pouch. Her fur was quite corse unlike the other wombat. The tazmania devil’s we got to watch feed. They were interesting animals and surprised us the most by the funny noises they made.
Any guesses what his favorite was? He was only a little disappointed that Crunch was not scheduled for a feed.
The Koala ‘ s were very cute but so docile not much to watch…we did get one to jump trying to get to his fresh leaves.
The kangaroos were awesome. They roam the park free and were full of personality! It was amazing! We got to feed them, pet them, walk with them, watch the Joey’s eat, hide, poke their heads out. They were so much fun!!!
Now we are off to watch the girls play baseball with their Dad coaching.
