Day 18 – Fitzroy Park & the Cathedral
We had a restful morning and caught up with laundry and school work. Then were ready for an adventure in the afternoon. Since it was Sunday we thought we would take advantage of free parking downtown and went to the park we had missed last week. It was the perfect afternoon for a walk in the park!!
The cathedral was just across the park so we went and checked it out as well, it is so beautiful. So amazing the detail that was put into the buildings years ago.
Day 16 – Best Day Yet – The Great Ocean Road
It was the perfect road trip day. Not too hot but beautiful sunshine!!! We took the freeway down to the 12 Apostles. Kristin was the “first to spot the red & white pole” in Geelong, as is the game on the way to Aireys, where the family has their beach house. We saw our …
Day 13 – Melbourne Star & Calisthenics
Today we did the Melbourne Star!! I was a little scared to get on after the one ride at Disneyland and this is so much bigger. It was actually a very pleasant ride. Nice and slow with amazing views of the very large Melbourne. I do have to agree with the ad…the first thing you …
Day 12 – Shopping & School Work
We had planned to go up in the tower today but it did not work out so today was just a catch up laundry, grocery shopping, school work, planning day.
We did learn that we need to make Dutch Pancakes, Poffertjes, and searched for a pancake maker…almost as good as printed pancakes.
Day 11 – Downtown Melbourne
A Picture is worth a thousand words!
Day 9 – Our First Aussie National Park
Today we needed out of the house and our hosts had busy days at work so we were on our own. What kinda trouble can these Wilderness Americans get in? We thought we would start off with a State Park…that could not be to much trubble, right? We missed the intended turn because of …
Day 10 – An Aussie Bday and Aussie Footy
We spent the morning catching up on blogs, homework, and laundry. Laundry takes a really long time when you have a small washer and you hang your clothes to dry. I might be missing my washer and dryer the most (three kids create a lot of laundry!!)!!
The family came for a visit so we could plan our adventures in town tomorrow. Then we were off to Miss S’s birthday party. It was at the local Macca’s, aka McDonald’s. The kids were happy to help celebrate her 6th birthday with her, can’t believe how big they are since we first meet Mrs. B as we were waiting for Ky, kids grow too FAST!
After the party we went home with the birthday girl to watch the Semi-Finals of the AFL (Australian Football League). It was the North Melbourne Kangaroo’s vs Western Australia Eagle’s. It was a great BBQ with a bunch of disappointed Roos. Go Roos!!!
My First Week in Australia
My first day went great. We got off the plane. The trip from when we started to getting off the plane was about 30 hours with 15 on the Quanta’s. 6 of it we spent in the airport doing homework. The plane trip felt like it would never end. The next day not so good. I was jumping …
Day 8 – Leaving Yarrawonga going back in time to Echuca.
It was sad to leave such a beautiful house. I think we will always talk about Auntie T’s house in Yarrawonga and how it was the biggest most beautiful house we have ever stayed in…in the “Whole World!” We went back in time on the way home. We stopped at a little village town …
