Day 26 – Philip Island
We woke up to a somewhat blustery day on Philip Island. We were not sure what there was to explore so we decided to take a little drive. Since it was dusk when we visited the penguins we headed back out that way.
We found a beach and walked down to enjoy the sand. It was on the bay side of the island but the surf was very rip tide looking. It was cool as we headed out but the sun came out as we approached the beach and we enjoyed the stroll on the beach.
We then headed out to what they called the nobbies, where we were suppose to be able to see some seals. We had a nice walk on the bordwalk and enjoyed the oceanviews from the tip of the island. We could not see any seals…maybe with some big eyes? As we finished our walk on the boardwalk it started to rain again so back in the car we hopped.
We drove some more around the island waiting to explore after the rains passed. As we found the clearing in the rain we made it to Churchill Island, an old working farm island. The kids enjoyed seeing the farm animals and got to help milk the cow. It started raining again so we decided to call it a day and head in for an early dinner.
Tacos for dinner, swim for the kids, and some reading and writing.
